The Big Island Can be explored online using Google Maps.
It
rises to over 10,800 feet, and contains 9 of the worlds 11 climate
zones. Hilo is the main deep water port, and the center of government.
Other towns include Kailua-Kona on the west coast, and Waimea located in the Northern central part of the island.

Since the Hawaiian Islands are volcanic, it is a good idea to
familiarize yourself with the different "Lava Zones" of the Big Island.
